Traveling to Ravello

Dear Charlie and Polly,
Saturday we traveled from Florence to Ravello. If you look at the map of Italy, it looks like a lady's tall, high-heeled boot. I have marked a few of the places we visited last week on the map. The red line shows the route we traveled yesterday. It wouldn't have been a bad drive except that it was pouring down rain when we left Florence. We stopped for lunch in in the little town of Orte which is just north of Rome. Can you find Rome on the map?
The restaurant where we ate lunch was called Del Gelsomino which means the Jasmine. Jasmine is a flower that grows everywhere around here and smells wonderful! It is an agritourismo restaurant, which means everything they serve is either raised or made right there.
Homegrown tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese
Doc's beautiful salad
Roast veal with porcini mushrooms
We have had fresh spinach at almost every meal - it is so delicious!
Limoncello - a grown up lemon drink
Doc standing in a tunnel of jasmine outside the restaurant
About an hour before we reached Ravello, it stopped raining. That was a good thing, because after we got off the highway, the road became very narrow and wound right through the mountains. See if you can trace our route from the red arrow at Angri to the pin at Ravello.
We found our house (I will tell you more about it tomorrow), and this was the first view we saw from our living room. It's absolutely beautiful here!
We went out to get a bite of dinner, and when we got back this was the view - the full moon reflected on the Meditteranean Sea!

Love you and miss you both!

Sweetie and Doc
